Pub Openings/Reopenings/Pipeline 2026

After a quite productive 2025 for new pub (and hotel, and pub-restaurant) openings, here's the page that'll be updated during 2026

2025 list2024 list 2023 list / 2022 list

Pubs/bars due to open 'soon':

S0301 Goggins, Monkstown - this pub closed a while back (shortly after my recorded visit, I believe); to reopen early 2026 according to their reactivated social media.

Unnamed new pub connected to N0313 Kealys, in the former 1019273 Big Mikes, Blackrock to open 'soon' as of late January, but no date as of mid April.

River House Hotel / Mezz nightclub - announced to reopen in "the summer"

N0080 Quinns, Drumcondra - renovation works significantly underway, latest opening date given as June 2026 (this after many, many missed dates)

Love Tempo, Thomas Street - damaged by fire, expected to reopen in 2026

Burton Tavern / Burton Hotel, Duke Street - fully fitted out for about a year but not open yet, and with limited social media presence. Reported to be having paperwork issues. Was open (but not charging for drinks) on Bloomsday, claimed opening within weeks at the time but has had continual planning problems.

Opened:

Libertine Lounge, Clanbrassil Street - former S1434 57 The Headline, South Circular Road/Clanbrassil Street refitted to a guesthouse with bar. Soft opened ~January 30th, officially opened February 5th

S1147 Drop Dead Twice - gutted by fire in 2022, work began March 2024 on a rebuild. Reopened for a Pride pop-up on June 28th, and again for take-out around Christmas, but then closed again until works are completed. Soft opened 25th February.

N1109 McDowells, Inchicore reopened after a few months closure, a refurbishment and change of operators on April 2nd.

Lynotts, Meath Street - renovation of the former All My Friends / even more former S3840 Graingers The Fountain that happened without me ever realising it. Opened April 3rd.

Longer term pipeline:

Smyths, Donabate - closed in 2024, planning received to renovate as a pub/restaurant in 2026 and has been re-licenced to the developers (Cairn Homes).

CHQ, Mayor Street - conversion of shopping centre elements in to a food market, pub licence from the closed Ely CHQ appears to have been reassigned to this now

Smithfield brewpub - Brewpub at the south western end of Smithfield Square, permission applied for in October 2025, commencement notice March 2026.

Clontarf Baths - meant to be reopening after takeover by Nolaclan. No recent news. Possibly flood damaged in February 2026.

Hill 16, Middle Gardiner Street - relicenced in January 2025, refit works underway

S1593 Cuckoos Nest, Greenhills Road - has a website and social media, photos of significant rebuild work underway

S0184 Leeson Lounge - closed in 2019 and used as a specialist off licence in the interim, works are underway for a refit of a new pub interior and kitchens. Ownership appears to be connected to the Brazen Head / Attestor Capital pub chain.

New licenced comedy club in the original Smithfield location of Token.

Bachelor Inn - conversion to a hotel, but retaining a large bar

Premier Inn - O'Connell Street, to the rear of the Clerys redevelopment

Premier Inn - Jervis Street

Premier Inn - Ushers Quay

Premier Inn - Sandyford

Premier Inn - Parkgate Street

Sofitel, Dublin Airport

New tourist hostel with bar, Hanover Street - under construction. All hostel bars in Dublin are full pubs currently.

New tourist hostel with bar, Chancery Street - on site of what was Fegans wholesalers, latterly cafe and was once upon a time a pub.

New bar connected to Hogans in the former Ballsbridge Post Office.

Longer term / possibly stalled

Bounce, Dame Street - a ping-pong themed bar, in the old Central Bank building. No recent news and likely not happening now that Roxy has been announced instead.

The Dean Swift, Francis Street - replacing the first location of Jackies, in a pub which was originally called The Dean Swift and which I visited when it was S1449 The Jug. Claimed to be opening "soon" as of early April 2025, but the premises was listed for sale in August 2025.

Rezz Hotel, Rathmines - was due early 2024, hiring bar staff, but has been block booked

Eclective - Clerys bar in former Clerys development - possibly not happening due to the Press Up -> Eclective change

Press Up/eclective - former S4389 Buck Whaleys / Stone Leaf - likely dead, building listed for sale again

Murray Group - renovation/reopening of former N0077 Out On The Liffey / Fibbers Rock Bar (this is not the main Fibbers)

S0214 Arbour House, Windy Arbour - listed for sale and relicenced in recent years

Old St Andrews Church Food Market - two operators (Wrights, Manifesto/Martin Barry) have pulled out of here, so this is looking less and less likely.
