S1583 An Poitín Stil

A vast roadhouse of a pub, this was once a residential pub that Louis Fitzgerald actually lived in. It's still sort-of the flagship pub of his group (although I believe the Palmerstown House is the head office pub); and its probably the best kept pub he has.

Stuffed to the gills with sporting memorabilia, ranging from comparatively quite minor local sports bits and pieces through to artefacts from the 1996 and 2012 Olympics and the ball from the 1920 Bloody Sunday match in Croke Park, the pub advertises its "museum" as an attraction.

There's a lot of passing food trade here, as the pub faces to the N7 on one side, and features a vast carvery and a more formal restaurant area; but there were plenty of locals in drinking too - indeed I think the side of the pub facing the village has more of the local historical items up.
